STORMS, MONSOON RAINS and HOW TO DODGE IT ALL

Ahh spring in Saint Louis! The blooms, the storms, the birds, the storms, the fragrances, the storms, the gardens coming to life, the storms...and no small miracle climbing at the Falls just about every week for the luckiest among us who mastered dodging the rain drops and other thundering anger of the skies.

Blessed we were, and what better place to pay our dues to the climbing gods that the Promised Land. It is there that we developed some serious obsessions.  Tony dreams about the moves on Balance of Power, while Calvin was seen acting them out while driving.
And yes we squeezed in one more last Sunday driving on Saturday night surrounded that we were by apocalyptic thunder heads.  But Team Saucisson never gives up!  Jared joined the fun and introduced to the team a new fashion style with a new kind of rubber approach shoes: they are waterproof and surely would keep the ticks away (ask Calvin about that most important feature) - see photo.
Yes it was the first week-end the temps were in summer mood.  That means my car has now a potent smell which is guaranteed to remain till the fall.  Isn't that sweet...it is like all my climbing friends are with me at all times.  Ahhh the power of smell.
On the way back Calvin and Tony had an in-depth conversion about Wendy's Frosties.  I know I am French and snob I cannot understand these things.  They clearly made me understand that sad fact.  Then Tony celebrated the day by gulping a full 32 OZ Fierce Gatorade.  This was an absurd sight.  Mr. healthy food was actually inhaling a full bottle of a very suspicious blue liquid which he chased with a Wendy Deluxe Junior Burger, and yes... a Vanilla frosty.  Do not ask what Calvin's opinion is on Vanilla Frosties vs. Chocolate's... you'll be on for a lecture which only a lawyer can muster.  Yes these climbing trips can be highly educational for the ignorant French girl that I am.
Enjoy the picts.
